Simon Curran has a photo exhibition currently on view at the Clonmel Library. It is running until Monday 6th July 2009. I had a chance to get a look at it myself and all I can say is Simon, well done.
Take a peek at these videos and see how The Wider Eye, based in Limerick, is using new media to promote his business. The wider eye is the company owned by a former member of Clonmel Camera Club, Peter O’Donnell.
The Irish Photographic Federation’s Photography yearbooks have become very popular over the last number of years. They provide an opportunity for photographers to bring their work to a larger audience. Photography Ireland now contains both colour and monochrome images, excellenty reproduced in a convenient A4 size book. The deadline was the 1st June 2009. Best of luck to any member(s) who submitted photo(s).
Congratulations to Cormac Healy on becoming this years Photographer of the Year.

Spring is in the air and what better place to witness it first hand than at Altamont Gardens who celebrate their eagerly awaited Snowdrop Week from 9th – 15th February 2009. Altamont Gardens are an enchanting blend of formal and informal gardens with riverside walks covering over 40 acres and are widely regarded as the jewel in Ireland’s gardening crown. Lawns bisected by sculpted yews slope down to a lake surrounded by rare trees and lead in turn to a very different garden featuring exotic shrubs and trees. The Walled Garden, which features the Corona North Commemorative Border has one of the most unique herbaceous plant collections in the country. Pre-booking is recommended for groups to Altamont Gardens: Tel 059-9159444 Altamont Plant Sales: Tel 087-9822135 Close to Altamont is the Forge Restaurant and Art Centre run by Mary Jordan - where fresh food and home–baking complements a visit to Altamont Gardens .
